About Ventura Water Damage
A free, local referral service. Not a water damage restoration company.
Who we are
Ventura Water Damage is a free referral service for homeowners, renters, and property owners in and around Ventura, California. We are not a contractor, and we do not perform water damage cleanup or restoration work ourselves. When you send us a request, we connect you with an independent local water damage restoration company that serves your area, and that provider contacts you directly. Always verify a contractor's license at cslb.ca.gov before hiring.
Why this site exists
Water damage is stressful and time-sensitive, and search results are crowded with national lead brokers and vague promises about insurance. Our goal is to publish clear, local information about first steps, drying, and how claims usually work, and to give Ventura-area residents one easy way to reach a local restoration company without being passed around to a dozen businesses.
How the referral works
- Tell us what happened. Fill out the short form with your city, what happened, and whether water is still coming in.
- We connect you. We pass your request to one independent local restoration company that covers your area.
- Get an assessment and estimate. The provider contacts you, looks at the damage, and gives you an estimate.
- You decide. Ask questions, check with your insurer if needed, and hire only if it's right for you. No obligation.
What we promise, and what we don't
- Using this site is free for you. Providers, not homeowners, support the service.
- We share your request with one independent local provider, not a long list of companies.
- We do not do the work, set prices, or guarantee any provider's work. The provider you hire is responsible for its license, permits, insurance, estimate, and workmanship.
- We don't publish made-up customer stories, invented statistics, or made-up credentials.
- We never promise insurance coverage, and we don't give insurance or legal advice.
Protect yourself when hiring
Ask for the provider's California contractor license number and check it on the CSLB website, ask for proof of insurance (including workers' compensation if they have employees), and get a written estimate. Read any work authorization carefully before signing, especially language that assigns insurance benefits to the contractor. Ask for moisture readings and drying logs. In California, a contractor generally cannot ask for a down payment of more than 10% of the contract price or $1,000, whichever is less, for home improvement work. Be cautious of door-to-door offers after storms.
